ildren who haven't already had the Measles Mumps & Rubella (MMR) vaccination can still get it thanks to a catch-up programme in Coventry
EASLES
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness. The illness causes a range of symptoms including fever, coughing, and
distinctive red-brown spots.

MUMPS
Mumps is a viral infection of the parotid glands. These glands, which normally make saliva, are found either side of the face below the ears and over the jaw bone.

RUBELLA
Rubella is a viral infection also known
as German measles. The virus is passed
on through droplets in the air from the
coughs and sneezes of infected people.
Two of the main symptoms of the rubella
virus are a fever (raised temperature)
and a distinctive red-pink rash.

Routinely, two doses of MMR are needed
- one at 13 months and another at 3years 4months - to ensure adequate coverage so that children who cannot be immunised
for medical reasons are also protected
from getting measles.

The MMR Catch-Up program for Coventry is designed for children from 7 months to 19 years of age who are unimmunised.,
